Lending on Ecomodo means you can lend things you own (such as a tent, gardening equipment, or bicycle), lend a hand: your time and expertise (such as gardening advice, carpentry, IT knowledge) or lend a space (such as a garage, classroom or a patch on your allotment).
We call it "lending" as opposed to hiring or renting as you, the lender, can determine how much you would like to receive for your item and when it is convenient for you to lend it. Simply negotiate the best time for the Borrower to use your item (object, skill or space) to give you complete control over your assets.

Here are three good reasons why you should become a Lender ..
Make money
As a Lender you can make money on Ecomodo. You can choose to keep it for yourself, donate it to a good cause or even decide to lend for free. For each item you add to lend you decide how much you wish to make and who the money goes to.
Be green
When an object gets more use over it's lifetime it improves what we call the "utility to lifecycle environmental impact" ratio.
Put simply, this means every object that is borrowed instead of bought increases it's use. And the more use an object gets against the amount of carbon that was used to build, package and distribute it, the better it is for the environment.
The more we lend and borrow amongst our friends, neighbours and colleagues, the more we collectively reduce our impact on the environment.
Do a good turn ..
By lending to people around you, not only will you meet a whole bunch of like-minded people but you will help people accomplish things they may not otherwise have been able to do.

2 Promote your items
You can promote your items on Ecomodo in many ways.
3 Agree a request
A member who wishes to borrow your item will send you a request stating when and why they want it.
On receiving their request, check the dates are convenient and you are happy with the Borrower. If so, simply agree by sending a contract. If you can’t make the dates, suggest another time. Only once the Borrower has received your contract can they book your item.
4 Check out
Before you lend your item check everything is in place. If it is an object or space make sure there is nothing missing off the checklist and everything is in good working order. If the item is a skill, check that you have everything you need to get the job done.
5 Check-in
On completion check everything is OK then leave feedback for the Borrower.
